The Mu Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International is pleased to announce a grant opportunity for nursing professionals and students who are advancing nursing science and practice through research or project implementation.
Grant Amount
Up to $599 in funding is available per award.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Current membership in Mu Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International
- Must be either:
- A nursing student enrolled in a Baccalaureate, Master, or Doctoral program in nursing, OR
- A licensed Registered or Advanced Practice Nurse with a Baccalaureate, Master, or Doctoral degree who is actively engaged in the nursing profession
Application Requirements:
Complete applications must include:
1. Completed Mu Gamma Grant application form: Link to form
- Demographic information
- Summary Statement
- Proposed budget
2. One letter of recommendation or support from professional associates or faculty members
3. Current resume or curriculum vitae
Review Process
All submissions will undergo blind review by the Mu Gamma Grant Committee. Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Overall quality of the written proposal
- Merit to the nursing profession
- Relevance to the research/project mission of Mu Gamma Chapter
- Previous funding history (preference given to new recipients and non-board members)
Grant Recipient Requirements
Successful applicants must agree to:
- Use funds only for approved project-related expenses
- Submit a final written report within 3 months of project completion
- Acknowledge Mu Gamma Chapter support in all publications and presentations
- Present findings at a Mu Gamma chapter-sponsored program if invited
- Return any unused funds at the end of the fiscal year
Human Subjects Research
Projects involving human subjects must obtain proper institutional review board approval prior to fund disbursement.
